Wondering whats’s next?
Interning at Carnmoney is a chance to be involved with the day-to-day running of a large and vibrant church. While focusing on an area of interest, you’ll gain a wider experience of leadership and planning, while offering hands on support to ministries and events throughout our church family life. This will include partnering with the youth, worship, discipleship, mission, compassion and resource teams.

WHAT INTERNSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE?
Interns will gain a varied experience across most areas of the church, while focusing on a particular area of interest for approximately 2/3 of their time.
This focus area could be media and communications, youth and children, or worship.
We are open to this crossing between these areas and stretching further into other areas of church life where possible.
WHEN IS IT?
October 2024 - July 2025 (There is room for flexability)
WHAT DOES A WEEK LOOK LIKE?
All internships are part-time, designed to fit around other work or study. However, there will be specific times (e.g. Tuesday morning staff meeting, Sunday morning worship, etc) and dates when you will need to be available, and we will give plenty of notice of these. These will include weekends and evenings. Please discuss this with us if it is likely to be a challenge.
This is an unpaid, volunteer position. There is another cost to the interns, and we will cover the cost of any expenses incurred (e.g. training fees, resources, etc.)
DEVELOPMENT OF KEY SKILLS
We aim for our interns to learn practical skills and gain real experience throughout their time with us.
This will not be a year of simply stacking chairs, making coffee and sitting in on meetings.
You will be expected to take on responsibilities and will be supported and trained to do so capably, while working in a Christ-centred environment where we aim to walk in step with what the Holy Spirit is doing. Therefore there is a degree of flexibility required, which we believe is integral to learn for further work in ministry contexts.
If you are working towards future qualifications and training, or aiming to work in a relevant field, we will also do what we can to support you in this, including providing opportunities for helpful experience and advice from those in the congregation with helpful skills (e.g. our job club team).
Many former interns in Carnmoney have gone on to further study or roles in church ministry, youth work, community work, aided by their experience in Carnmoney.
INVESTMENT & GROWTH IN YOUR OWN CHRISTIAN FAITH:
Interns will take part in various discipleship training schemes throughout the year, including the PCI “Apprentice | Train” program, with the opportunity to engage with further training provided by the church. Interns will also be encouraged to be part of a community within the life of the church, where they will receive solid teaching in the context of a caring small group.
